News on a Noise and Vibration Partnership Group

Energy, extraction, manufacturing and construction governing bodies, along with HSE, have come together to form a Noise and Vibration Partnership Group. The industry-led group will work together to increase awareness of the risks associated with noise and vibration in the workplace and promote effective management and control.

The purpose of the group is to reduce the incidence of noise-induced hearing loss and hand-arm vibration syndrome in workers by further raising awareness, through the use of posters and a calendar, of the risks of exposure to noise and vibration in the workplace.

It is hoped the scheme will improve workers’ knowledge concerning exposure to noise and vibration in the workplace and share, promote and encourage good control practices.

The ultimate aim is to bring about a change in attitudes and behaviours to workplace noise and vibration.
