From 1st September 2021, the old 6150 qualifications for Confined Spaces will no longer be available and are being replaced with the 6160 suite of qualifications. They have been updated to reflect the National Occupation Standards produced by EUSkills. These new suite of qualifications no longer differentiate between water and non-water, and with regards to the Medium Risk Course (currently known as 6150-02) the Top Man part of the qualification is being removed and will be a separate qualification in its own right.
More details on the Top Man qualification will be announced in the coming months. In the meantime, if you need to get your Top Man qualification renewed, these are still covered in the 6150-02 Medium Risk course until the end of August so be sure to book your spaces in time so you don’t miss out the chance to extend this qualification for another 3 years before the deadline of 31st August 2021.
