Driver ‘finishing line’ is fast approaching
Lorry Drivers now have less than 3 months to make sure they have the Government’s compulsory Driver CPC qualification under their belts or face a huge fine. However, many companies are still totally unaware of the scheme.
The finishing line for all lorry drivers to be qualified is 10 September 2014 to avoid prosecution under the new legislation.
By the deadline, all lorry driver driving vehicles over 3.5 tonnes professionally will have to have completed 35 hours of Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training or face a £1000 fine and a red light on their driving career, as well as their employers also receiving a £1000 fine.
Now drivers are realising the speedy need for action, C&C Training has experienced a huge demand for the Driver CPC courses it offers from its full 35-hour programmes to 7-hour sessions as and when busy customers can fit them in.
Using a tachograph, Roadside Emergency First Aid and how to spot an intruder hiding in your vehicle are some of the other subjects available.
C&C Training is urging drivers to act now. Don’t get caught in the jam for courses, book now to make sure you are in line with the law. We have scheduled courses throughout June, July and August at both centres.
