Course Objectives:

The course has been designed to raise awareness and develop the knowledge of site-based employees on the hazards and risks posed by asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) within their everyday working environment and to provide an overview of the legislative measures in place to safeguard themselves and others affected by work activities.

Course Content:

On successful completion of the course delegates should:

• Have an increased awareness of the nature and properties of asbestos and its effects on health.
• Be familiar with types, uses, and likely occurrences of asbestos in buildings, and where appropriate, types of plant.
• Know how to avoid the risk from asbestos by understanding:
• Where to obtain information on asbestos in premises prior to commencing work.
• What to do if suspicious materials are found.
• How to use appropriate workplace precautions.
• Undertake work activities in a safe manner.
• Understand unintentional and emergency contact procedures.

Who Should Attend:

This is a hard-hitting reminder for all those who plan or carry out work on or in buildings and estates and follows the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

Delivery:

Delivered via Zoom video technology, the training follows the same curriculum as the classroom course and is delivered to the same standard. The same assessment takes place but via our secure online assessment technology.
