N139 Forward Tipping Mini Dumper up to 1 Tonne Novice

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, delegates will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

• Understand the industry, dangers, and responsibilities as an operator.
• Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the machine being used.
• Locate & identify major components of the machine and explain their functions.
• Locate & identify key controls and explain their functions.
• Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer & legislative requirements.
• Identify & maintain PPE appropriate for gritter & snowplough use.
• Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.
• Prepare the gritter & snowplough for use and operate safely & efficiently.
• Attach & set trailers, mounted & PTO drives ready for operation.
• Understand environmental considerations.
• Storage & transport of implements & attachments.
• Demonstrate knowledge & understanding of loading & unloading procedures for machine transportation.
• Carry out all end-of-shift & shutdown procedures.

Delegate Numbers: Max of 3 per course

Certification:

On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an NPORS card valid for 5 years. A refresher course can be undertaken after that.
