N014 Marine Knuckle Boom Crane Refresher

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, delegates will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

• Understand offshore crane lifting operations and industry dangers, along with operator responsibilities.
• Work with the manufacturer's handbook for the machine used.
• Interpret the lift plan and risk assessment requirements.
• Locate and explain the functions of major components of the machine.
• Identify key controls and explain their functions.
• Set up exclusion zones, including emergency actions and hazard identification.
• Identify and maintain PPE suitable for knuckle boom crane operations.
• Conduct pre-operational and running checks per manufacturer and legislative requirements.
• Inspect and determine the suitability of the landing area.
• Prepare and operate the knuckle boom crane safely, considering sea uplift and vessel movement.
• Take environmental considerations into account during operation.
• Carry out all end-of-work and shutdown procedures.

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an NPORS card valid for 5 years. After this, a refresher course can be undertaken.
