N003 Reach Lift Truck Refresher Tests

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, delegates will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

• Understand the industry, its risks, and operator responsibilities.
• Know the manufacturer’s handbook for the machine used.
• Identify and explain the major components of the machine.
• Understand the steering, driving, and braking controls and their functions.
• Conduct pre-operational checks in line with manufacturer and legislative requirements.
• Safely mount and dismount the machine.
• Start, stop, and safely operate the machine.
• Configure and manoeuvre the machine safely, laden and unladen, across open and confined areas.
• Perform necessary safety checks at the work area.
• Set up the machine for lifting tasks and operate it safely.
• Lift, transfer, and move loads accurately and safely at different locations.
• Safely load and unload external transport.
• Fit, adjust, and/or remove attachments.
• Understand loading/unloading procedures for transporting the machine.
• Carry out end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an NPORS card valid for 5 years. After this period, a refresher course is required.
