N001 Industrial Counterbalanced Lift Truck Novice

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, delegates will be able to answer questions on and perform the following tasks:

• Understand the industry, its risks, and the operator's responsibilities.
• Have knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the specific machine.
• Identify and explain the functions of major machine components.
• Conduct pre-operational checks according to manufacturers and legislative requirements.
• Safely mount and dismount the machine.
• Start, stop, and move the machine safely.
• Configure and maneuver the machine for travel across different terrains.
• Conduct safety checks at the work area.
• Maneuver the machine to the work area and configure it for lifting tasks.
• Perform lifting and load handling tasks safely and accurately.
• Lift and transfer loads to different locations safely.
• Safely load and unload external transport.
• Fit, adjust, or remove attachments when necessary.
• Understand the loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation.
• Carry out end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an NPORS card valid for 5 years. A refresher course can be undertaken after this period.
