N001 Industrial Counterbalanced Lift Truck Experienced Worker Tests (EWT)

Course Objectives:

It is envisaged that at the end of this course the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

• Understand the industry, its dangers, and operator responsibilities.
• Have knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the specific machine.
• Identify major machine components and explain their functions.
• Conduct pre-operational checks per manufacturer and legislative requirements.
• Safely mount and dismount the machine.
• Start, stop, and safely move the machine.
• Configure the machine for travel and maneuver it safely.
• Perform safety checks at the work area.
• Maneuver the machine to the work area and configure it for lifting tasks.
• Carry out lifting and load handling tasks safely.
• Lift and transfer loads accurately at different locations.
• Safely load and unload external transport.
• Fit, adjust, or remove attachments.
• Understand loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation.
• Perform end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.

On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an NPORS card valid for 5 years, after which a refresher course can be undertaken.
