Manual handling, or more accurately, incorrect manual handling, is one of the most common causes of injury in the workplace. To address this, the Manual Handling Operations Regulations were introduced.
The Regulations establish duties for both employees and employers. They specify that employees must be trained to handle loads safely, including the use of any equipment provided by the employer.
This course outlines what constitutes manual handling, covers the relevant regulations and legislation, and then delves into safe handling techniques. It provides practical guidance on developing good habits and includes information on mechanical aids to assist in manual handling tasks.
Please note, this is an awareness course only. If your duties involve manual handling, you will need further practical training. Please contact us to arrange this.
