Course Objectives
Following attendance on this confined space entry awareness course, delegates will gain essential skills and knowledge to enter, work, and exit safely within a medium-risk confined space environment, with or without the use of breathing apparatus.
This confined space safety training is designed to help delegates understand the critical aspects of working in confined spaces, including the regulations, monitoring, and emergency response procedures.
Course Content
Topics covered in this course include:
- Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 and related confined space hazard awareness.
- Identifying problem atmospheres, their occurrence, detection, and monitoring.
- Physiological effects of problem atmospheres and confined space risks.
- Pre-use checks, donning and doffing escape set breathing apparatus, and maintenance procedures.
- Safe entry procedures and safe systems of work, including the use of escape set breathing apparatus.
- Emergency procedures and responding to alarms in confined spaces.
- Knowledge and skill exercises for entering, working, and exiting medium-risk confined spaces, with a focus on safe entry and exit procedures and breathing apparatus training.
- Practical exercises for working in confined spaces (delegates should bring their own footwear, waterproof clothing, hard hat, and working gloves).
Certification
On successful completion of the assessment, delegates will receive a C&C Training Ltd Certificate of Attendance in confined space safety training.
