At the end of the course, delegates will have covered and understood the following:

- Precautions required for the safe use of grinding wheels in the workplace.
- Types of equipment and correct specification of wheels.
- Legal requirements for using grinding wheels under PUWER regulations.
- Principles of safe use of grinding wheels HS(G)17.
- The selection and use of suitable PPE for grinding wheels.
- Hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels and how to prevent them.
- Methods of storing, handling, and transporting abrasive wheels safely.
- Inspection and maintenance checks for grinding wheels.
- Procedures for fitting of new wheels (Instructor demonstration and candidate practical session).
- The purpose and use of safety features, guards, and interlocks.
- Reporting of faults and incidents related to abrasive wheel usage.
Upon completion, delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance in abrasive wheels training.
