Technology lends a hand

Technology is giving training a helping hand here at C&C Training by means of an E-learning course.

The Category A – Asbestos Awareness Refresher is the first of C&C Training’s E-learning opportunities to be launched and has been designed to follow the requirements of Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and its supporting Approved Code of Practice L143.

Building on the original information received on the initial Category A Asbestos Awareness training, this 1.5-2 hour course is designed to keep delegates up to date with asbestos issues in the workplace.

Those who have attended the initial Category A Asbestos Awareness course within the last 12 months, and all those who plan or carry out work on or in buildings and estates and follows the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 will benefit from the online refresher.

On successful completion of the course delegates will have covered the following:

• The nature and properties of asbestos and its effects on health
• The types, uses and likely occurrences of asbestos in buildings, and where appropriate, types of plant
• How to avoid the risk from asbestos by understanding:
− Where to obtain information on asbestos in premises prior to commencing work
− What to do if suspicious materials are found
− How to use appropriate workplace precautions
− Undertake work activities in a safe manner
• The nature and properties of asbestos and its effects on health
• Unintentional and emergency contact procedures

On successful completion of the course, delegates will be issued with a C&C Training Certificate of Attendance which is valid for 12 months.
